Position Description :

Pharmacist reviews physician orders and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical preparations to inpatient and outpatient areas of the hospital. Maintains accurate patient profiles and monitors and helps manage drug therapies in order to achieve positive patient outcomes. Oversees pharmacy technicians and students and ensures accuracy of their work prior to dispensing.

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required.

Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Current licensure in the State of Pennsylvania.

Additional Information :

Must be familiar with federal and state laws and JCAHO regulations governing the profession. Knowledge of appropriate medication utilization and dosage regimens, understanding of drug incompatibilities, and knowledge of pharmaceutical and clinical procedures is essential. Must possess the clinical skills necessary to effectively monitor all patient medication therapies to assure positive patient outcomes. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel, patients, and families.
